On March 6th, the Gender Diversity & Inclusion Committee of AmChamSpain and PriceWaterhouseCoopers held a round table titled “Diversity Series: Diversity on Boards” with the objective of analyzing the latest developments in diversity and share tips on how to obtain positions on administrative boards.
On this special occasion, speakers included: Beatriz Faro, Regional President – IDM Internal Medicine, Pfizer; Isabel Linares, Senior Counselor, PwC Spain and Consejera independiente; Marta Colomina, Managing Director Marketing, RSC y Fundación de PwC; Beatriz Puente, CFO, NH Hotels Group. Consejera y Presidente, Comité de Auditoría de Metrovacesa; Emma Fernández, Consejera y presidente del Comité de Nombramientos y Retribuciones de Metrovacesa. Consejera de Ezentis, Axway and other companies; Marta Gil-Casares, coach y asesor de carrera profesional; and Pilar de Santiago, Managing Partner, Heidrick & Struggles.
For Marta Colomina, administrative boards are experimenting changes in various areas, including the process of searching and selecting candidates. She affirmed that this process has become more “professionalized” and new directors are increasingly being identified thanks to recommendations and proposals from head-hunters.
The speakers referred to their personal and professional journeys and offered advice to our members on how to gain access to positions on administrative boards. They highlighted the importance of gaining experience, training and visibility, as well as personal development and networking.
