On March 8th, we held the dialogue "Current Economic Affairs and Challenges of our Economic Policy" with Pablo Hernandez de Cos, Governor of the Bank of Spain. The event brought together more than 100 executives from AmChamSpain member companies.

During his welcome remarks, AmChamSpain's Chairman Jaime Malet pointed out Spain's opportunities to attract American investment in the current moment of reorganization of the globalization process. He also expressed the entity's concerns about public debt, the sustainability of the pension system, and high inflation.

Subsequently, Mr. Hernández de Cos gave a speech analyzing the current macroeconomic situation in Spain and Europe, highlighting the strong effect that the war in Ukraine has had on both. The Governor also gave a positive assessment of our economy, paying special attention to the resilience of our market and good employment indicators. However, he called for caution in predicting growth for the following quarter of 2023, indicating that risk factors for our economy are still present.
