Yesterday, September 28th, we hosted a lunch with Alberto Núñez Feijóo, President of the Popular Party, with the attendance of the top representatives of our member companies.

Feijóo, who attended a previous meeting with the Board of Directors of AmChamSpain, was able to learn about the activities and main priorities of the Chamber for the next few months. During his speech, the President of the Popular Party reviewed the economic situation, highlighting the effects that the current geopolitical scenario has had on it. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of strengthening the transatlantic alliance. In his words, "in a world that faces the threat of authoritarianism, countries that share the values of liberal democracies must strengthen our ties more than ever."

Regarding the economy, he stressed the need to reverse three current negative dynamics: high inflation, economic growth stagnation, and high public debt. In his opinion, achieving this depends in part on having greater investment capacity and, in turn, on creating regulatory, legal, and tax environments that are predictable.
