Irene Cano was appointed CEO of META Iberia in June 2012, taking responsibility for adapting and implementing the company's strategy in the Spanish and Portuguese market in the different business areas. Irene joined Facebook in January 2010 as Commercial and Business Development Director after more than 10 years of experience in the sector, where she has worked for the main technology companies. Before leading the Facebook Spain team, she developed her professional career at Google, where she started as Head of Operations in 2003 to become Director of Agencies in 2006. Previously, she worked for 3 years in the commercial department of Yahoo! Throughout her professional career, Irene has headed the Sales department of Orange Spain in 2009 and was also part of the Volvo CE Marketing team in the United Kingdom. Irene is a member of the Board of Directors of Adveo, a leading European company in office services and supplies and listed on IBEX 35 as well as a member of the Advisory Board of Liberbank in Asturias. Graduated in Business Administration and Management from the University of Oviedo, Irene is an active defender of the role of digitalisation in the future of organizations, which is why she has been recognized as one of the 25 most influential women in Spain by different publications. Irene actively collaborates with various NGOs, including the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, lives in Madrid and has a 7-year-old son.
