Jaime Malet - Chairman

CEO TELAM & Chairman of the US Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain)

Mr. Malet is the CEO of Telam Partners (www.telampartners.com), a strategic consulting firm specializing in infrastructure, energy, and technology. 
 
Since 2002, Mr. Malet is also Chairman (pro-bono) of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (AmChamSpain- www.amchamspain.com). 
Founded in 1917 and part of the worldwide AmChams network, AmChamSpain represents around 300 Spanish and U.S. companies. 
Among them are most of the U.S. multinationals based in Spain and major Spanish companies. More than 350 executives from its member companies serve pro-bono on the Chamber's different bodies and committees.
The Chamber has offices in Madrid and Barcelona.
 
Mr. Malet began his career as an international corporate lawyer at Arthur Andersen (1990-1994) and headed his own law firm, specializing in mergers and acquisitions from 1994 until 2015, when he founded Telam Partners. 
He has been senior advisor or member of boards of directors of major companies such as NextEra Energy, Cisco Systems (for Latin America), Alvarez & Marsal, Tyco Electronics, 32 Advisors, Air Products, Itinere, T-Systems, Ako, Interxion, 3M, Indra, Cosentino (at present), etc. 
He chairs the Advisory Board of Zurich Insurance Group in Spain.
He is a trustee of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Prado National Museum.
He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Consejo España Estados Unidos and the board of Advisory Board Acción Empresarial of the CEOE. He is also a member of the network of experts of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
 
He holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona (1982-1987); an LLM master’s degree in international law and Economics from the University of Houston (1987-1989); a postgraduate degree in taxation (AGT) from ESADE (1995-1996); and an Advanced Management Program (PADE) from IESE (2001-2002).
 
In the institutional sphere, Mr. Malet advocates for responsible capitalism: one that is respectful of society and the environment and based on the principles of ethical governance (ESG). 
 
He is the author of the book "Del Tibidabo al Mar" and a regular contributor to national and international media.
