On October 4th, the event "Boosting EU Competitiveness" was held, organized by Google in collaboration with South Summit and AmChamSpain.
The event brought together over 150 members of the entrepreneurial and business ecosystem, as well as representatives from the public administration, including the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López; the Secretary of State for Industry, Rebeca Torró; the Secretary of State for the European Union, Fernando Mariano Sampedro; the Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Isabel Rioja-Scott; and Google’s President of Global Affairs, Kent Walker, among others.
During the event, relevant topics were discussed and analyzed, such as the Draghi Report and its implications, Spain's commitment to ethical AI, and Europe’s strengths in charting a future path.
Finally, the importance of transatlantic cooperation between the United States and Spain was emphasized, especially in AI governance, as well as the key role of all stakeholders in enhancing the competitiveness of the European Union.
