On October 2nd, a meeting was held with Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office, and our members from the audiovisual and technology sectors to discuss public-private collaboration in the defense of intellectual property rights and the fight against illegal content and products.

 

In the last 15 years, Spain has transitioned from being a problematic market due to high levels of piracy to becoming a reference point in its international efforts to combat it. The Spanish government, the judicial system, and law enforcement agencies have put in significant effort to protect innovation and combat piracy, which is closely tied to criminal organizations.
